A massive thank you (and well done!!) to @lauramccannphotos for inviting us to the launch of her powerful exhibit, The Many Faces of Many Hands, featuring our very own @avacassandra + @athena.barbital! 🧡

@sahirhouse originally commissioned Laura for this project, showcasing portraits from their Many Hands One Heart group - made up of individuals who have fled their birth countries due to the criminalization of being LGBTQ+. 🏳️‍🌈

The exhibit beautifully intertwines members of this group with Liverpool’s incredible drag scene, reminding us that political change is possible and that there is such beauty and liberation in living authentically - just as @avacassandra and @athena.barbital show us every weekend at Heaven and beyond 🥰

A massive well done to all the artists featured, Laura for her incredible exhibit, and thank you to Sahir for being there to support as always 🫶🏼

We are deeply saddened to hear that over the weekend, we lost a true Liverpool legend, The Vivienne 💔

Viv was an extraordinary Queen whose legacy will forever be found everywhere you go in our Pride Quarter, and will be found in the hearts of everyone who has walked through our city. It would be hard to find a Liverpool drag artist, past or present, who hasn’t been influenced by this amazing Queen in some way - whether it was seeing her perform in venues across the city here, there and everywhere, or witnessing her show the world just how much of a superstar she was on our TV screens.

Viv was a huge part of Heaven when we first reopened in 2017, hosting Drag Race viewing parties, lip sync nights, quizzes, charity fundraisers, and opening for incredible acts like Violet Chachki, Trixie Mattel, and Willam at Heaven. We will forever be grateful to have been even a small part of Viv’s journey, and to have had her help shape our venue into what it is today. 🫶🏼

Our love goes out to Vivienne’s friends and family, her fans around the world, the staff of the venues she worked with for many years, and everyone affected by this heartbreaking news.

Rest in peace, James/Viv. Your star will shine brightly forever. 🌟
